Robby Briggs

Robby Briggs DrummerI started playing percussion in 2000 at the age of 11 in my elementary school band. Early on I focused primarily on snare drum, but as I grew up and my playing ability advanced I wanted to play more. I received my first drum set for Christmas in 2001 and immediately began to experiment with many different types of playing styles. In 2002, after many months of begging and pleading, I began to take intensive drum lessons which focused on; concert snare, jazz, funk, rock, and some latin. From then on I applied myself to anything from community bands, to rock bands. Not once do I play through any song without thinking back to the most important fundamentals I learned while I took lessons.

Styles
My primary focus is on snare drum (concert or marching) and jazz but I can definitely teach rock, latin, funk and some reggae. I believe that it is most important to learn the most basic fundamentals of percussion playing. By doing this you expand your ability to play any given style greatly.
